Two Jamaican men have been sentenced to life imprisonment for killing an Anglican priest they met on gay dating app Grindr.
The two young men were arrested and charged with the murder of the 36-year old priest Reverend Father Larius Lewis at his residence in September last year.
According to the Jamaican Loop, the men are 22-year old Lloyd Thompson and 20-year old Tafari Wilson. Both men are from Roxborough District in Clarendol, Jamaica.
During thier sentencing at the Clarendon Circuit Court, the judge ruled that Lloyd Thompson should be behind bars for at least 21 years before eligible for parole whiles Tafari Wilson serve 19 years before being eligible for his parole.
In a case that has been referred to as “crime of passion”, the accused persons pleaded guilty to the murder of Father Larius Lewis of Chapelton, after admitting they met him online.
In relation to the case, investigations also revealed that the men made away with some items including a desktop computer, mobile phone and a Hyundai vehicle parked at the house.
