US-based Ghanaian rapper, Vic Mensa has narrated a howling experience when he visited Ghana for the first time.
Vic Mensa recalled a robbery experience at the Kotoka International Airport which changed his view about his motherland.
In an interview with Rev Erskin on the Myd Morning Show on Y 107.9 FM, Vic Mensa also called Victor Kwesi Mensah explained how he was robbed within a twinkle of an eye.
“The first time I got to Ghana, I got robbed within 5 minutes. I was 11 years old and it was funny, that was my first time being outside of America, I landed at the airport and it was crazy.
I didn’t understand the language, the atmosphere was different. I couldn’t get a cab, someone walked up to me and told me to give him money and he will get me a cab and he left…. It was funny” Vic Mensa remembered his ordeal.
However, Vic Mensa was quick to add that the Ghana’s image on the international scene has changed a lot and people are even now willing to come for a visit than before because of the welcoming atmosphere in the country.
“The perception of Ghana is currently transforming and many more Black Americans are coming and expressing interest in being here,” Vic Mensa was quoted to have said.
